New Stuff

We picked up 45 lb dumbells in addition to the 30-35-40s we had. We are steadily increasing in weight, and are looking and feeling great. Which is encouraging. We had to create a new weight spreadsheet because the first one ran out of space on google spreadsheets.

CHA POT UL

Chipotle, the description of which can only be "yum". I had it for the first time in about 2 months tonight, it was freaking amazing going down, I know it's horrible for you, and I'm trying to limit portion size, but I ate an entire Barbacoa burrito tonight, and it was grand! It kinda sat a bit weird in my non fast food eating stomach (I had given up "eating out" for lent). This is the first time I've eaten out is over 40 days. and I hadden't eaten Chipotle for weeks before that... I was missing out... but I think I'm going to have to give up Chipotle for slightly less religious and slightly more worldly reasons this time, SSbS!

Week Off

So we kind of took a week off from lifting, accedently, but sorta of on purpose (ok, that's an excuse). Anyway, we started back up Monday night, and it was painful, and after we lifted, we coached soccer for 2 hours (Matt and I), and basically played pick up the entire time, based on our calculations in the 3.5 hours we burned around 1700 calories. Impressive.
Obviously we are both now and have been tremendously sore, to the point where we tried to amputate our legs like Gradenko on 24 did his arm last night. Today we are back to lifting again, and back on schedule, we have almost exactly 3 months left from this week.

I think we are improving and our spirits are still somewhat high, especially because of this...

Diet, Sch-miet

So in an effort to achieve our SSS status, we've instituted a house diet... aka, eat healthier. In fact, with some experimentation I found that I was actually able to make it through a day without being too hungry... calorie total for the day: 765. Of course, we all know that's wayyy too little. So, I'm trying to do the whole 5 - 8 small meals per day, trying to cut calories around the range of 300 - 500 from before. So far so good!

Troy on the other hand... let's just say for dinner the other night he had a half a pan of brownies...

Things I'll Be Needing

In order for this whole SSS thing to work, I'm going to need a few things.
1) A beautiful masseuse to fix my shoulders, cuz frankly, they're killing me.

2) A beautiful young woman to hate me and not give me a freakin' chance of taking her out, and then progressively as I get super sexier, she starts to "wear down" (steve urkel style, "I'm wearing you dowwwwwn Laura, wearing you dowwwwwwwwn) and eventually, upon SSS achievement, she goes out with me. Think of it as a "something to look forward to" type model.

3) I need a future mirror (see above), to keep me working hard towards the prize in which I have been called to. Yea, perhaps you're thinking of a Bible verse, and that's what I stole it from. But hey it's true, gotta keep your eyes on the prize, and the prize in this case is Super Sexy By Summer Achievement.

Improvement...

Looking at the spreadsheet, I can already see some, if not mild improvement... I can't wait to see more, I'm really nerdy about excel and spread sheets and trends and linear regression, I can't wait till we have enough data to make graphs, and calculate percentage gains and stuff...

Also the first week in April starts soccer practice, so Matt and I will enjoy an additional 3 hours of running a week. We should see some good results in a few short weeks.

Mood: Excited for what the future holds

Looking Forward

The soreness has gone away from Sunday night, and Thursday. I'm looking forward to lifting tonight, I think we are starting to get over the hump. I think the support of all three of us doing it, has reallyed helped with motivation both in actaully getting up to go lift, and in finnishing each rep and set using every last bit of strength. The good work out music also helps...

Select Tech

To get that real bowflex body, we are thinking about investing in those fancy cool weights by Bowflex called Select Tech, the adjustable ones... hmmm will Oak St. Fitness be getting these?

Jogging

Ben and I were jogging today from our place down the WO&D trail. I was complaining because I thought Ben was running too slow, but in his defense I suck at pacing myself, I like speed. Soon an old lady (like 60 YO) was coming up on us, she passed us and said "Guys, I'm old enough to be your grandma, pick it up". Talk about pouring salt in wounds... Ouch... Wait till grandma see us on July 1st.

2nd day... 1st real one

I just finished lifting, biceps and back... My arms hurt, but the music was good:
Be Still, My Soul by Ginny Owens
If We Are The Body by Casting Crowns
My Savior My God by Aaron Shust
American Gladiators by American Gladiators
Self Esteem by The Offspring
Keep Holding On by Avril Lavigne
Jock Jams - Are You Ready For This by Soccer Chants
Blessed Be Your Name by Tree63
We Built this City by Starship
In The Secret by Chris Tomlin

In good spirits, after my 3 hours nap before lifting... Time to stretch again, before things tighten up then on to homework so I don't have to do it Sat.
